Ow!    Patrick Cowley & Sylvester / Do You Wanna Funk  1950년 미국 뉴욕 버팔로 출생인 "패트릭 코웰리"는 디스코와 Hi-NRG
댄스뮤직계에서 유명한 작곡가겸 레코딩 아티스트다.
종종 일렉트로닉 댄스 뮤직의 개척자로도 불리우는 그는,
1971년 샌프란시스코로 이주하면서 부터 신디사이저에 관심을
가지기 시작했다. 조명기사로 "City Disco"에서 일하면서 "Cockettes gay Theatre"
그룹의 "실베스터(Sylvester James)"를 만나게 되었고 파트너가 되어
함께 신디사이저 스타일의 음악을 시작했다.
나이트 클럽에서 활동하며 팬층을 만들어간 이후 "You Make Me Feel
(Mighty Real)", "Dance (Disco Heat)"등의 노래를 히트시켰고
이들의 최고 히트곡인 "Do You Wanna Funk"를 1982년 만들어 냈다.
1981년 앨범 [Menergy]와 [Megatron Man]을 발표하고
1982년 샌프란시스코의 클럽 "The EndUp"에서 DJ로 활동하면서
빌보드 Hot Dance Music/Club Play차트 1위에 오른 "Paul Parker"의
댄스곡 "Right on Target"을 프로듀싱했고, "도나 써머"의 히트곡
"I Feel Love"의 15분짜리 롱 리믹스버전을 만들기도 했다.
하지만 1982년 앨범 [Mind Warp]를 발표하고 11월 12일
에이즈로 사망했다. 1948년 LA 출생인 미국 디스코 /소울 뮤지션인 "실베스터"도
1988년 12월 16일 에이즈로 사망했는데, 2004년 "디스코 뮤직 명예의 전당
(Dance Music Hall of Fame)"에 헌정되었다
