헤비메탈의 거장, 독일 출신의 헤비메탈 기타리스트이자
멜로디 메탈 그룹 악셀 루디 펠. 1984년 "Steeler"라는 팀을
조직하여 음악계에 등장한 후 1991년 [Nasty Reputation] 앨범으로
솔로 데뷰를 했다.
악셀 루디 펠은 바로크 메탈이 몰락한 현재까지도 꾸준히
앨범을 발표, 잉베이 신화를 이어나가는 총망 받는 기대주로서
바로크 메탈의 전도를 해나가고 있는 옹골찬 뮤지션.
해를 거듭해가면서 악셀의 기타 플레이는 자신을 이끌어 왔던
잉베이의 영향권에 얽매이지 않고 잉베이 연주의
바탕이었던 리치 블랙모어로 방향을 선회하며 네오 바로크메틀 사운드에서
현재는 70년대 딥퍼플등의 정통 하드락의 르네상스시기로 뿌리 찾기에 열중했다.
그는 모방을 거부하고 북구의 스피드 멜로딕 메탈을 가미시켜
매우 드라마틱하고 신비스런 사운드로 탈바꿈시켜 자신만의 스타일을 확립했다.
국내에서는 그의 1998년 음반인 [Oceans of Time]이 서울음반을 통해 발매된 바 있습니다.
